ABOUT THE GLOBALIST
The Globalist is a boutique travel brand obsessed with how and where people actually stay. We curate affordable, design-led hotels under roughly 150 rooms in neighbourhoods that matter, then send travellers to trusted OTAs such as Booking.com and Expedia to book. Independent and editorial-first, The Globalist sits between glossy inspiration and raw search results – doing the hard selection work so our readers don’t have to.
“A boutique travel platform with the precision of a Swiss watch and the soul of a jazz record.”

THE FOUNDER
Arjun Charanjiva is the founder of The Globalist, a human-centered travel platform built for people who care as much about neighbourhoods, atmosphere and stories as they do about price and points. His taste is global, his radar fine-tuned, and his mission is simple: help travelers cut through the noise and quickly find places that feel right.
Long before The Globalist, Arjun was the friend people called for boutique hotel and city recommendations. He travelled on tightly curated itineraries for the day and night, drawn to independent hotels, local culture and the kind of experiences that stay with you long after checkout. That eye for culture and curation now sits at the heart of The Globalist.
Professionally, he spent more than a decade at Mars Inc. in the US, working on iconic brands such as billion dollar M&M’s, Snickers, Dove ice cream and Combos and later led the chocolate business in India where he was also a key part of the AIME leadership team. At Mars he combined vision, analytical precision, creative thinking and operational acumen to deliver strong P&L performance, record-breaking growth and award-winning campaigns, while learning how to build high-performing, cross-functional teams around a clear consumer promise.
In 2014 he founded Kulture Shop, India’s pioneering artist platform for cutting-edge graphic art and lifestyle products. Through high-quality curation, distinctive IP and innovative destination stores in Mumbai, Kulture Shop turned design into collectible culture and became a destination store for travelers and cultural hub. It was featured in titles including Wallpaper, The New York Times, BBC, Architectural Digest, Vogue and Conde Nast Traveler.
The Globalist is where all of this converges: years of obsessive hotel and city discovery, a deep respect for design and storytelling, and a career spent building brands around what people truly value. The result is a human-centered, AI-powered travel platform that helps discerning travelers cut through the noise and quickly find stays with character, intention and a genuine sense of place—accessible, memorable and as friction-free as possible.
THE GLOBALIST RIGHT NOW
The Globalist is in an early build phase: a working space to test how curated boutique stays, city research and technology can come together. For now, you’ll see a small number of hand-picked hotels and neighbourhoods, with links to trusted booking partners. Over time, this will evolve into a deeper, more structured guide.
Everything you see here is part prototype, part promise: an outline of what The Globalistwill become as we refine the concept city by city.
The Globalist may earns a small commission when you book through some of our links. You pay the same price, and it helps fund more and better curation.
HOW WE LIKE TO TRAVEL
- Boutique over big-box: smaller, characterful places with a sense of ownership, story and design.
- Neighbourhood first: walkable areas with cafés, culture and everyday life, not just a checklist of landmarks.
- Time well spent: curation and tools that reduce research overload and help you make better decisions, faster.
The Globalist is an independent editorial project; we partner with OTAs on an affiliate basis and do not sell placements.
